We are pleased to announce that Mr. Farid Rajabi Nia has provided $1000.00 USD to be awarded to one of the applicants for this year (2024).
Mr. Rajabi Nia received scholarships in 2016, 2017 and 2019. He has decided to pay forward the funds he received through Momeni Foundation.
He writes:
I journeyed far from Iran, the place I called home for more than 30 years. Fleeing my homeland to escape persecution, I arrived in the United States seeking a fresh start and the freedom to be who I wanted to be. Despite the challenges of starting anew in a foreign land, I determined to pursue my education, recognizing it as the key to a better future.
I began my academic journey at community colleges, where I balanced my studies with long hours working in retail and on college campuses. My efforts and perseverance paid off when I transferred to University of Virginia, a significant milestone in my educational journey. Despite the financial challenges, I was fortunate to receive the Momeni Foundation scholarship for three years, which provided crucial support during my education.
Now established as a senior consultant, I have not forgotten the support I received during my educational journey. In a gesture of gratitude and a commitment to helping others, I have begun giving back to the Momeni Foundation, ensuring that other students facing financial barriers can pursue their educational dreams. I believe my story is a testament to the impact of education, hard work, and the importance of paying it forward. “As others planted for us to harvest; so shall we plant for others to harvest.”
